| We need to talk about racism: Sept. 12 |
|
Following an award-winning first year, Visionary Conversations will be back for another round of thought-provoking discussions this fall. Join President and Vice-Chancellor David Barnard, along with trailblazing researchers from the University of Manitoba, for the second season launch of Visionary Conversations in September during Homecoming. Our topic, We Need to Talk About Racism, will challenge us to examine our own values and beliefs and whether we have achieved progress in building a society that embraces diversity and promotes equality. I will be joined by: • James Wilson, Alumnus and Treaty Commissioner for Manitoba; • Emma LaRocque, Professor of Native Studies; • Lori Wilkinson, Associate Dean in the Faculty of Arts and Professor of Sociology; • Andrew Woolford, Associate Professor of Sociology.
